Trip Itinerary
Check out the highlands including Kandy, the wildlife and our lovely beaches.
Day 1 - Airport to Kandy
From the aiport we depart for Kandy. At 500m above sea level, Kandy is the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. Its was home to the Sinhalese kings from 1592 to 1815. After arrival free and easy for the rest of the afternoon. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 2 - Kandy
In the morning we visit the Royal Botanical Gardens. After lunch we go to the Temple of Tooth, which houses the sacred tooth of Buddha. We will also enjoy a tour around the city, with its cooler climate and bustling town center. In the late afternoon enjoy a cultural show featuring the various dances of Sri Lanka. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 3 - Kandy - Ella
A drive round the Lake of Kandy before we leave for Nuwara Eliya, about 3 hours away. Situated at 1889m, it used to be the summer resort of the British. We wil visit a tea plantation and the market in Nuwara Eliya. Then we will further proceed to Ella. Overnight stay in Ella.
Day 4 - Ella - Yala National Park
Today you will visit the Ella-waterfalls then drive to Yala National Park. This is leopard country and with a density that’s higher than anywhere else on this planet, these menacing predators prowl majestically in Yala, while elephants roam in their numbers with cautious deer scampering by their side. In the afternoon we will enjoy a safari and search for wild life. Overnight stay near Yala.
Day 6 - Yala National Park - Mirissa
On our way to Mirissa we stop at Kataragama. This most holy of towns is a compelling mix of pomp and procession, piety and religious extravagance. Then we proceed to Mirissa. Though beautiful beaches and a thriving nightlife scene make Mirissa a hot spot for tourists the area is still quite down to earth. Mirissa is also well known for its fantastic areas for whale and dolphin watching. Overnight stay in Mirissa.
Day 7 - Mirissa - Hikkaduwa
On route you will see the stilt fisherman and we will also stop at Galle for a city walk around the Dutch fort. After lunch we will proceed for Hikkaduwa. Among the coastal side of Sri Lanka Hikkaduwa Beach has a special place for its exquisite white sands an uniquely beautiful corals that has lured many visitors to take a glimp at the marvels that can be seen in full abundance. Overnight stay in Hikkaduwa.
Day 8 - End of the tour
Drop off at the airport or any place you like to extend your stay in Sri Lanka.
